We at Dav-Bar, Ltd. believe that you, the customer, should be informed so that you can make a well-educated decision when it comes to selecting a painting company. Here is a list of warning signs to look for when selecting a painting company.

• 100% Down Payment: Good painting contractors ask for a partial down payment and have a schedule of payments to follow. Payments are scheduled as major parts of the project are completed. Watch out for contractors who require 100% up front.


• Few or No References: Good painting contractors should be able to refer several happy customers. Dav-Bar, Ltd. has a residential reference sheet and an industrial reference sheet full of very satisfied customers.


• No Proof of Insurance: Check for insurance coverage, it is required by law and protects the homeowner from being liable for any accidents that may occur on the job. Dav-Bar, Ltd. carries the maximum insurance coverage


• No Permanent Address for the Business: Most reputable painting contractors have a permanent address for their company. Dav-Bar, Ltd. has been located at our location for years.


• The bid Seems too Low... Way too Low! Be sure to compare estimates by insisting each painting contractor bids on the exact same week. Don't supply a bid you've already received from one painter to another. This takes away your ability to judge a painting contractor's professionalism. Insist that the painting contractor give you his complete and clearly written contract, showing time, effort and professionalism. Beware of bids on the back of business cards or scribbled on a sheet of paper, etc...


• No examples of Other Completed Projects: Have you seen the painting contractor's work, both completed and in progress? Check for quality of workmanship and materials. Dav-Bar, Ltd. can provide digital photography of some of our major projects from start to finish.
